The Cathedral and the Catholic community in the La Crosse area provide a great deal of formation and study programs. Please take the opportunity to sacrifice time each month to deepen your understanding of Sacred Scriptures and the Truths of the Catholic Church.

Bible Study on Revelation

If you’re familiar with the Left Behind series, you may wonder what the book of Revelation, the last book in the Bible, is REALLY about. What does the Catholic Church teach about the End Times? Now is your chance to find out. In the fall a 10-week bible study, Jeff Cavins’ Adventures in Revelation, published by Ascension Press, will be offered at Cathedral Parish on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. An optional introductory meeting will be held in early September to help anyone who is unfamiliar with reading and/ or studying the Bible. Bible Study: Adventures in Acts

"Adventures in Acts: the Spread of the Kingdom Bible Study" with Jeff Cavins, a 20 week DVD series will be offered at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., beginning September 8 from 7:00-8:30 pm. The Book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did on earth. Paul's letters in particular come alive in a new way when they are read within the context of the Acts narrative. $26.00 covers the cost of a customized binder which includes study questions and responses. Catholic Catechist Home Study Courses

Be a part of the New Evangelization by learning and understanding your faith. An information meeting on the Catholic Catechist Home Study Courses is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, from 9:15-10:15 am., at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. These three courses (a 16-lesson Basic Catechism Course, a 36-lesson Advanced Course, and a 7-lesson Masters of the Spiritual Life Course) are adult continuing education courses suitable for catechists, teachers, parents and any serious Catholic desiring to deepen his or her knowledge of the faith. Special Religious Education classes

La Crosse Deanery Special Religious Education classes for the 2008-2009 school year will meet one Saturday per month from 10:00 am to noon, September through May, at Holy Cross Diocesan Center, 3710 East Avenue South, La Crosse. Adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities desiring to meet for fellowship and growth in the faith are invited to attend. Sacramental preparation for confirmation will also be available. The La Crosse Deanery Council of Catholic Women is sponsoring a Bible study on the Gospel of Matthew from Tuesday, September 9, to Tuesday, November 11, 1:30-3:30 pm, on third floor of the Diocesan Center.
